Neil Nickerson owns the ship. I sailed with ex-Coast Guard Captain Nickerson in 2008 for 9 days in a 50-foot sailboat through the Inside Passage on a family photography trip with my 2 daughters and fellow photographer John Schnell. Captain Neil is the consummate professional seaman with a mellow personality. He knows the ins and outs of the Inside Passage as well as anyone. John Schnell complements Neil by adding his 30 years of experience exploring and photographing Alaska. I’ve known John for 20 years. Other crew include an executive chef and ship mechanic.
I will let the photography included with this message do my talking. Suffice it to say I value my free time highly and have not conducted any workshops to my personal “bucket list” world destinations for several years. The intimacy of this excursion on this particular ship with these particular crew to this particular place has brought me out of “retirement” and I would like to share this with 8 lucky people.
